Aunt Jane's Nieces

Aunt Jane's Nieces 1

First of a series of eBooks written by Lord Frank Baum under the pen name Edith Van Dyne

The eBook “Aunt Jane's Nieces” was written by Lord Frank Baum who used the pseudonym Edith Van Dyne. The book was original material that depicted the adventures and encounters of young girls that lived during that time.

“Aunt Jane's Nieces” was published in 1906 and initiated a series of ten books that run from 1906 up to 1918. The publication of the book was done to provide an alternative reading to Louisa May Alcott's books, “Little Women” and “Little Men” which were gaining popularity during that time.

As an alternative, “Aunt Jane's Nieces” was created by another publication to gain the market share that was booming on adolescent books that were becoming popular during that period.

Aunt Jane's Nieces was never a copy-cat of any material and showed conflict that happens among young girls, mixing good character traits with ugly ones and compromises that happen along the way to hurdle an obstacle.
